The full programme of lectures and field trips for the 2016 NAMHO conference has now ben published. The National Association of Mining History Organisations is holding this year’s event in the Republic of Ireland. The theme of the event is “Mining and Social Change”. The event starts on Friday 17th June with a field trip to Drummond Mine, Co. Cavan, but numbers are very limited, unfortunately.
The lectures are being presented at Dublin City University, and the event is hosted by the Mining Heritage Trust of Ireland.
Saturday is a full day of lectures on a variety of subjects, and there is a choice of field trips on Sunday. There are also optional extra visits to working mines after the event on Monday, and to abandoned workings through the week until Friday.
