2020 AditNow mine exploration calendar available

Since 2008, members of the AditNow UK mine exploration forum website have contributed an impressive variety of photographs to calendars, produced each year, which are sold to raise money for good causes in the mine exploration community. Photographs are drawn from members of the website, who have been very generous with their photos, contributing year after year for many years. It really would not happen without the generosity of the photographers.

The 2020 calendar is now available, and they are selling very quickly. You can order a calendar from the AditNow website, and also find details of the groups the calendar has funded over the years.

Since 2008, the sale of these calendars has raised £7,766.70, usually supporting a cave rescue team and a mining history or preservation group each year, with a few exceptions. Some years it’s just been a single group that benefits, when that’s happened it’s because one organisation has stood out as being particular worthy, a very good example being the Cambrian Mines Trust. Each year there is a vote on the forum to decide who the proceeds are to go to, and any site member can nominate a group of their choosing.

A nice touch with the calendar is that brief histories of the mines are featured. Sometimes the photographers themselves provide these.

When placing an order, you can choose which organisation of the two nominated will receive the profit from your purchase. This year’s nominated beneficiaries are Cumbria Amenity Trust Mining History Society, and the Cumbria Ore Mines Rescue Unit. This is a high quality product using exceptional photographic material, well-worth the cost of £17.50, all the more so when profits are used to fund a good cause.
