The Clapham Bunk, Cafe and Bar is the venue this Saturday (8th April) for a book signing by Adventures Underground author Dave Haigh.
Dave explains he’ll be available from midday in case anyone wishes to call in the afternoon, with the main event starting around 5pm.
This being a caving book signing the Bunkhouse has taken the precaution of obtaining a late licence for the bar, so it should be a good night!
Both the hardback and softback versions will be on sale, autographed if required by both authors. Dave also confirms sales so far have surpassed all expectations, which is great news for the charities benefiting from the royalties.
Inspired by the 1952 caving classic Underground Adventures by Arthur Gemmell and Jack Myers, Dave and John Cordingley have resumed the tale of cave exploration in the Yorkshire Dales and take their readers on a journey of exploration, capturing the thrill of discovery, the highs and lows of success and failure underground, and have blended their narrative with the dark humour known only to cavers. Their stories include the hunt for the Penyghent Master Cave, the Gaping Gill to Ingleborough Cave connection, the final link forged in the Three Counties System and the hard-won underwater passage discovered beneath Malham Cove.
