Cavers’ Classroom First Aid Event – 7th October 2017

The Wealden Cave and Mine Society have some spaces available for a one-day event: ‘First Aid Training for the Underground Environment’. The date is Saturday 7th October, and the venue is the Scout Hut in Woodhatch, near Reigate, Surrey. The start is 10.00 for 10.30 and it’ll probably finish about 4.00. The event is ideal for cavers based in the London and South East area, who might otherwise have to travel some distance to a caving area to attend this sort of session.

The training will be in the class-room style (i.e., no hands-on role play), and will be given by Dave Dobson from SMWCRT. It will cover the basic injuries or illnesses you might experience underground, and what you can do about them with what you are likely to have in your tackle bag.

Please email emma.scheck@wcms.org.uk to book your place as there is a limit to numbers. The WCMS will provide tea, coffee and biccies, but please bring your own lunch. Alternatively, next door to the scout hut there is a garden centre which has a cafe.

There will be £3 pay-on-the-door fee for any non-WCMS attendees.
