The following announcement is being made on behalf of the Council for Higher Education Caving Clubs (CHECC):
CHECC are thrilled to announce this year’s CHECC Forum on 25th – 27th November! This year takes us to the Mendip Hills in Somerset for all the usual fun and games. The venue is in an excellent location, within 10 minutes drive of Priddy village and all the best Mendip caves. There’s a great big field for camping, plenty of indoor space for socialising and a great dance hall with DJs 99 Flake and Rotson playing till late etc. etc. All of the usual training workshops will be running including photography, Single Rope Technique, surveying and cave rescue practice.
As if that wasn’t enough, this year there is OVER £1,300 of caving gear up for grabs for your club to WIN through the UK Caving Grand Prize! See here for details on how to enter in the run-up to the event.
AND we are offering a FREE TICKET for the winning T-shirt design – to be submitted by 11th November! If we pick your design for the Forum T-shirt, then we will refund your ticket in full!
This year we are looking for a new Treasurer. To represent student caving in the wider caving world, manage CHECC finances and organise CHECC events. If you or anyone in your club is interested, they should contact the current Treasurer – Adam Henry to talk what’s required for about this role. We’d love to welcome you to the team!
Tickets are £24 for the weekend, including accommodation, 3 meals and access to the best student caving event of the year! Please note that the maximum capacity of this venue is 200 so this year tickets will be limited to 15 per club in the first instance. The booking deadline for your full ticket quota is 11/11/2016. Talk to your club’s CHECC delegate or Trips officer and reserve your place! Follow the CHECC Forum 2016 event page for further details.
See you at the Forum!
