Due to the large volume of recent rainfall in the region, information has been received from Welsh Water/Dwr Cymru that a planned release of water from an upstream dam will start on 1st November and will continue for several days. This will affect the River Mellte and the cave of Porth yr Ogof.

The effect on the cave will depend on the amount of rainfall over this period, so cavers are advised to take note of water levels if entering the cave and extreme caution is advised.
