July 12th was a bright and sunny day on Casterton Fell Good job as it was a publicity day for Red Rose Cave & Pothole Club at Bullpot Farm. We were presented with our cheque for our Sustainable Development Grant from Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority by the Park Chair, Carl Lis OBE. This covers the installation of a new gray water system, tackle store and Library at the Farm. The cheque was presented to Ray Duffy, Club President, Sandra Wilkinson, Librarian and Andy Hall, Project Manager.

Guests included other representatives form the National Park, local County Councillor, Nick Cotton and representatives from B4RN, including Dave Ryall.

B4RN is the Broadband for the Rural North, a self help project to install fast fibre broadband to rural North Lancashire and Cumbria. One of its most isolated locations now served is Bullpot Farm. There was a presentation cheque to B4RN Casterton as well. The weather was lovely so all presentations were done outside. The local press were represented as well, although he did ask where the barn was!

Cavers staying at Bullpot Farm may in future be surprised to discover they have faster internet access at the farm than they do at home, thanks to B4RN for Casterton!

Cavers living in remote locations wanting to improve internet access can find more information on the B4RN for casterton website at http://www.b4rncasterton.co.uk/ and also on the B4RN site at https://b4rn.org.uk/
