The Cave Rescue Organisation have condemned thieves who have stolen a recently installed traverse line and karabiners from the high level traverse in the Kingsdale Master Cave yesterday.

The high line traverse had been installed in advance of Eurospeleo 2016 and enables access and exit in the event of a major flood in the system.

A separate report from Inglesport suggests a rope, three tackle bags and seventy five Fader karabiners were taken, the karabiners are marked with yellow paint on the gate.

The incident is being reported to North Yorkshire Police.
