December NAMHO Newsletter Published

NAMHO_Logo1A good source for news on things that matter to mine explorers and historians is the NAMHO newsletter. The latest issue, for December 2015, has just been published. The theme and some details of the 2016 NAMHO conference in the Republic of Ireland are announced. If your society owns or leases a mine site, there is a notice advising you to contact the BCA Insurance Manager with some details of the site in question. There is a selection of news from various society and museum members of NAMHO, and it is good to see what other groups are up to.

Several new publications are reviewed, and there is a calendar of events for 2016. A letter is published from Tim Allen, the BCA-appointed “CRoW Liaison Officer”, in which he explains the result of the recent BCA ballot regarding the matter of future access to caves under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act (2000), seeks to reassure mine explorers that the legislation does not apply to mine-workings, and asks for their support for the BCA campaign.
