Yorkshire CRO have warned of a potentially lethal rockfall in Wretched Rabbit on Casterton Fell.
ATTENTION CAVERS – Collapse at Wretched Rabbit, Casterton Fell (NGR – SD 676 806)
There has been a series of rock falls at the entrance to Wretched Rabbit. Red Rose Caving Club have assessed the collapse and advise that it is potentially lethal. As a result of the rock falls there are a number of large boulders above the entrance that are considered extremely unstable.
We recommend that you do not go near it, or use this entrance. As more is known about the extent of the falls, and plans for stabilising remaining rock, further information will become available on the CNCC website, but if you could pass on the message we would be grateful.
